Do I need to have sailing experience?

No sailing experience is needed. A positive attitude is more than enough. Our experienced skipper will look after you and teach you all needed skills.

How does the itinerary of the event look like?

The exact routes are set a few weeks before the event starts or on the special wish of our Guest. In the meantime, you can see an example routes in each destination page.

How do we join sailing trip with Sail.Deals?

The easiest way is to gather a group of friends and book a yacht with a skipper in any wished place and time. The price for a yacht is fixed and you split it between all crew members on board.

Alternatively you can join any of our standard, fixed cruises with a fixed price and itinerary.

How to pack?

There is no limit on the luggage but remember that storage space on the yachts is limited so we recommend packing in a small, soft bag.

Do not forget your ID or passport, some cash, debit/credit cards and some basic clothing.

  • A small day pack for shore excursions
  • Some flip flops or deck shoes that can get wet
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat
  • A light weatherproof jacket (just in case of high seas or seasonal showers)

What is a kitty?

A kitty is a fund or pool of money that all travelers contribute to at the beginning of a trip. It is spend for grocery shopping, port fees, diesel, water and skipper alimentation.

What are the sleeping arrangements like?

This is our most common question. Sleeping quarters are designed to utilize the minimum amount of space in order to keep the communal areas as big as possible.

People are often hesitant about the idea of sharing a double mattress with another traveler however our boats have a mix of double, twin and bunks bed.

I cannot swim, is it a problem?

Absolutely not, as on each yacht there is a life jackets, which you should wear while we are sailing. Please also inform your skipper about it.

What and how do we eat  on board?

Crew is usually divided into cooking shifts, Each day a different watch is responsible for cooking meals but of course sometimes we also skip it and simply enjoy eating a local cuisine.

How can I charge my devices on board?

You can always charge your electrical devices with 12V car-like electrical sockets while cruising, And while 230V sockets while we are moored in the marina.

What is the difference between booking a yacht or just an individual place?

Booking a whole yacht is like a group reservation, meaning:

-       You need to gather your own crew

-       We will provide you with a skipper (excluded from any extra costs such as food/fuel/marina fees)

-       A whole yacht is cheaper than multiple individual bookings

-       you need to point a contact person who will provide us crew details

Booking individually, you simply get the number of places you require on a boat.

-        You do not have to gather a crew as we will do this for you

-        The route and skipper is fixed

-        You do not need to chose the boat type

When is the latest I can change or add a new crew member?

The crew list needs to be finalized 4 weeks before your departure. If you need to make a last minute change please contact us via email or call: 0048 504 227 637, We will do our best to support you.

Can I book as a single traveler?

Yes, we can either propose you a place on the yacht to join other crew members or you can book a whole yacht with a skipper.

Are towels and sheets provided on the yacht?

Yes, towels and sheets are provided for each crew member on the yacht. However we recommend you to bring an extra beach towel.

How does the payment process looks like?

You will be asked to pay first 50% upon booking and remaining 50% should be balanced 8 weeks before embarkation.

The exact dates will be visible on your participant agreement.

If you book less than 2 months before departure, we will require the full amount to confirm your reservation.

Is the flight ticket included in the price?

No, the flight ticket is not included in the price, but we will be happy to help you in finding the best flight connections to join your dream cruise.

Is food and drink included?

Yacht booking does not include food or beverage in the cost. It will be covered from so called “kitty fees” collected on the first day and estimated for around 100-150 Euros per week per person.

What is an estimated cost for a week per person?

The cost depends mainly on the yacht you choose but also on the region and the date. The price of the yacht is fixed and you divide this between however many people in your crew. Alternatively you can join one of our proposed sailing trips with a fixed price per person. Additionally you will need to participate in a so called “kitty fees” which are used for common: food, drinks, port fees, water and fuel. It is estimated for around 100-150 Euros per week, per person. Any cost outside a boat is on your end.

What is the security yacht deposit?

The yacht security deposit is a security payment made to the charter company during check-in. It may be used against any damages caused to the yacht during the sailing trip. If there is no damage the amount will be fully refunded at a check-out.

The full amount of the deposit will be split among all crew members and can be made either by cash or paid with a credit card.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

If cancellation of your booking occurs 60 or more days before the embarkation, 50% of the payment is not refundable. If you need to cancel with shorter than 60 days notice than you will unfortunately need to cover 100% cost, however please contact us directly, as we might have a better solution for you.

How do I pay for a cruise?

All needed Bank Account data for the bank transfer will be provided on the participant agreement you will receive while booking a yacht.

What does my trip include?

Besides an unforgettable experiences, a whole or individual place on a yacht, safety and yacht handling training, captain/skipper service, yacht maintenance, towels and linen.

What is not included?

Your spending money, visas, personal travel insurance, medical fees, cost of optional activities and excursions, entrance fees, kitty fees and your transportation to the embarkation place.

Can I change a yacht I booked?

Please email us providing booking reference number and we will try to place your request. However some additional fees may occur.

How to avoid seasickness?

  • If your eyes see what your ears are feeling, you will certainly have a better chance of avoiding the worst effects of seasickness.
  • Stay busy and keep your mind occupied
  • Stay in a fresh air
  • Find an activity on a deck
  • Drink plenty of water and breathe deeply
  • Avoid going below deck
  • Look at the horizon
  • Stay warm, relaxed and comfortable
  • Eat lightly and avoid fatty or spicy foods
  • If you decide for medications, than it needs to be taken at least an hour before travel begins
